How it (flux)works

Audio Flux is a home for independent audio that showcases emerging and top talent from around the world. Bringing together audio producers and devoted listeners, Audio Flux is a galvanizing space for the audio community anchored in stories, sound, and art.

At its core is Audio Flux’s circuits. Each circuit is powered by a different creative partner and an intentional set of guidelines. Creators produce and submit 3-minute audio works (fluxworks) that range from narrative to experimental, investigative to conversational, interviews to sound art, fiction to genre-bending, and everything in between. Commissioned and juried fluxworks are showcased online and in public listening environments.

Circuit 03: Pet Sounds (2024)

Developed in creative partnership with pet portrait artist Ben Lenovitz, Circuit 03 is open for public submissions (!) and the theme is Pet Sounds. Thanks to IMI for supporting this Circuit.

Circuit 02: Listening With (2024)

Developed in creative partnership with documentary filmmaker Sam Green of 32 Sounds, the theme of Circuit 02 is Listening With. Thanks to Dan at Bumper, Tom and Bryan at Sounds Profitable, and Mr. Chris Bannon for supporting this second circuit and On Air Fest for the live world premiere.

Circuit 01: Letting Go (2023)

Developed in creative partnership with best-selling writer and artist Wendy MacNaughton, the theme of Circuit 01 is Letting Go. Thanks to the IMI (Independent Media Initiative) for supporting this first circuit.
